At gold Youth Development Agency (gold-youth), we believe in the gold inside every young person—their ability to rise, transform their communities, and shape a flourishing Africa. Today, we are excited to share an important milestone: African Vision Malawi (AVM) is transitioning its work into the gold-youth family.
This step represents not an ending, but a new season of growth. It is a continuation of AVM’s legacy, woven into a broader Pan-African movement committed to social behaviour change, education, and job creation for young people.
A Seamless Transition with Continuity and Strength
AVM’s dedication to uplifting lives in Malawi will continue through gold-youth’s proven systems and trusted model. The work already taking place will remain focused on equipping young people to discover their potential and lead positive change in their schools, communities, and nation.
Who We Are: gold-youth
For over 20 years, gold-youth has been rooted in Africa as a hybrid non-profit and social enterprise. We mentor, train, and equip young leaders to:
- Shift social norms through positive peer influence.
- Complete education with purpose and resilience.
- Grow in economic independence, building stronger futures for themselves and their communities.
Our Peer Education Model has reached thousands of young people across the continent, creating ripples of transformation. We currently operate in South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya—and now Malawi—demonstrating scale, sustainability, and impact.
Why This Transition Matters
For Malawi, this transition means access to stronger systems, wider networks, and continental expertise.
Importantly, this is not a takeover. It is a partnership that honours AVM’s history while amplifying its vision. It is about carrying forward what has been planted, nurturing it with tested resources, and ensuring greater outcomes for young people in Malawi.

Moving Forward
gold-youth and AVM have worked hand-in-hand to ensure this is a thoughtful and respectful transition. Programmes in Malawi will continue seamlessly, with new opportunities opening as part of a wider Pan-African family.
The Bigger Picture
By joining the gold-youth family, AVM’s work in Malawi becomes part of a continental movement amplifying the voices of Africa’s next generation. Together, we are investing in young leaders who will transform education, shift social behaviour, and contribute to economic flourishing.
This transition honours the past while boldly stepping into the future—a future where every young Malawian has the opportunity to see the gold inside of them and live it out with purpose.

A Closing Word
We celebrate the legacy of African Vision Malawi and welcome this new chapter as gold-youth continues the journey.
This transition is not simply continuity—it is growth. It is the next chapter of impact for young people in Malawi and across Africa.
Together, we are shaping Africa’s future.
