When gold-youth first began its journey in Rwanda in 2020–2021, it started with a simple but powerful vision — to raise young leaders who would be the change their communities need. Fast forward to today, and that vision is beautifully unfolding.
This year, we celebrate a milestone moment: our very first gold Grads in Rwanda! These young people began their journey as Peer Educators while still in high school — leading, mentoring, and inspiring their peers to make positive choices and take charge of their futures.
But their journey doesn’t end here. In an inspiring ripple effect of leadership, three of these gold Grads are stepping up to become Facilitator Interns. They will now walk alongside a new generation of Peer Educators — the very young people they once stood among — guiding, mentoring, and multiplying the impact of youth-led change.

It’s more than a transition; it’s a powerful symbol of what happens when young people are empowered to lead. From being mentored to becoming mentors, from being equipped to equipping others — the cycle of transformation continues.
As gold-youth Rwanda grows, this moment reminds us that real change doesn’t happen overnight — it’s built through consistent investment in young hearts and minds. And seeing our first cohort of Peer Educators become Facilitator Interns shows just how deeply that impact runs.
Here’s to Rwanda’s first gold Grads — the pioneers, the dreamers, and the proof that when you believe in youth, they’ll believe in others too.
