My name is Makaita Makoiti I am passionate about making people look beautiful and appreciate their beauty. As someone born with disability, l thought l would not manage to do something that can be appreciated as life seemed possible to those who are able bodied.
I now feel special. I know can be what I want to be and my condition cannot limit my imaginations. I have created boundaries that can give me space and do what l wish to do without violating other people’s boundaries. Sharing information with my friends on what I am learning during our gold sessions is now my goal. I want to continue to motivate other young people and tell them that they can do it.
When l finish my studies, I want to be a logistics manager (professionally) and a makeup artist and beauty therapist (by passion).” Peer Educator, Bulawayo
“What we love about the model is the curriculum; the content and the implementation standards that make it so easy for us to implement. We don’t have to recreate the wheel. Its all there and we are seeing its power in changing lives right before our eyes.”

“The value of the gold Model and how holistic it is in what our country needs can’t be escaped. There is no way we can look at social change with our youth sector without this model.”
Siphiwe Mayo – Principal Administration Officer – Ministry of Youth Sports and Recreation
