28 November 2024 gold-youth Shines at YouthConnekt Africa Summit 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda 

From November 8th to 10th, Kigali buzzed with the energy of young innovators, leaders, and change-makers at the YouthConnekt Africa Summit 2024. gold-youth was at the heart of it all, fostering connections and igniting conversations about youth empowerment across the continent. 

– Energetic youth from different countries gathered at YouthConnekt, excited to connect.

A Vibrant Presence at the Summit 

gold-youth proudly hosted a booth at the event, serving as a hub for engagement, inspiration, and collaboration. Our space was more than just an exhibit; it was a meeting point for minds eager to reshape the future. 

Engaging with Young Minds Through Moodle Sessions 

We had the incredible opportunity to interact with hundreds of young people. Through dynamic discussions and interactive Moodle sessions (Moodle is a creative and engaging e-learning platform), we showcased the gold Model that focuses on empowering youth through education, mentorship, and community development. These sessions allowed participants to experience firsthand our innovative approach to learning and engagement, making use of technology is key. The enthusiasm and curiosity of these young leaders reaffirmed our mission and highlighted the immense potential that lies within Africa’s youth.

Leadership and Insight at the Roundtable 

An exciting highlight was the roundtable discussion led by our Head of Impact Management and Learning, Sylvia Baguma. The session brought together thought leaders, educators, and young change-makers to delve into strategies for maximizing impact in youth development. Sylvia’s expertise and passion steered a conversation that was both insightful and action-oriented, leaving attendees inspired to implement new ideas within their own communities.

Building Bridges with Potential Partners 

The summit was a melting pot of organizations and individuals committed to positive change. We connected with potential partners who are equally passionate about youth development. These interactions opened doors to future collaborations that could amplify our impact across the continent.

One of the most striking observations was the eagerness from representatives of various countries to have gold-youth extend its reach. Their hunger for our presence and programmes underscores a shared recognition of the urgent need to invest in youth-led initiatives. 

Strengthening Existing Bonds 

We were delighted to share this experience with our current partners and those in the process of onboarding. Together with the dedicated gold team, we explored new strategies, shared successes, and learned from each other’s experiences. This collective participation strengthened our bonds and aligned our visions for the future. 

Lessons Learned and Insights Gained 

The summit was not just about networking; it was a learning ground. We attended insightful sessions that covered topics ranging from technological innovation to sustainable development. These learnings will inform our strategies and help us refine our approaches to making a tangible difference. 

Inspiring Words from Leaders 

The speeches delivered during the summit were nothing short of inspiring. A highlight was the address by His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, who emphasized the pivotal role of the youth in shaping Africa’s future.
