People experience their immediate surroundings and  acquire knowledge in different ways. The VAK  (visual, auditory, kinetic) Learning Styles model is a repository of indicators that help an individual understand their strengths and preferential ways of learning.

The learning styles were conceived originally by psychologists and learning specialists in the 1920s. It would be advantageous for students in all levels of learning to observe what is their preferred way of learning so as to not only accumulate information, but also gain understanding.
