GOLD Peer Education

GOLD Grad-A promising Entrepreneur

Talent Mabuza is a young man from a humble rural  area in Mpumalanga. He says his life was  “was transformed from lot of anger and sadness” when  he became a GOLD Peer Educator in 2007. He was introduced to the GOLD programme while he was a grade 10 student at Ngodini High school. He says that he did not know the kind of impact the programme would have on his life. The activities he did with the other Peer Educators, like provide vital information to the peers and organize community development projects molded his character to be the young leader that he is today.

He is now a successful entrepreneur who owns a model agency and is an inspiration to the young people in Nelspruit. Like his mentor-a former GOLD Facilitator-he is role-modeling the importance of making positive and life-changing decisions.

He says he lives his life with the understanding that it take one person to make the difference, and in the process create a chain of leaders that will change the whole world
