A blanket donation in season

As winter settled in Cape Town in the months of March and April, learners from schools in Kraafontein received a generous donation of blankets from a caring group of friends in the USA, spurred on by Michelle Young. The Power of a Conversation

GOLD Grad leaves a mark

In early January 2015 GOLD lost one of its most treasured Facilitator interns: Sandile Mkhize. Sandile was 23 when he passed away unexpectedly. Although he was young he made great strides in uplighting his community especially young people and women. A refreshing training

In the week of the 10th of Novemeber, Dean Egypt (Western Cape  Co-ordinator) went to Mpumlanga to give a Pre-Implementation Training. The training was attended by the different organisations that implement the GOLD programme. Dean notes that  the training was great and fruitful. Past Peer Educators make a difference

Two past Peer Educators from Zambia Vincent Mwelwa and Cypriano Chilekwa were chosen to be part of the Restless Development Zambia initiative as volunteers in the month of September. At Macassar High School Peer Educators were given information about the various career and tertiary education options they could choose from. Training filled with excitement-Ndola

Fifty-six Peer Educators gathered at the Ndola-Kawama site in Zambia  for a two day Mentor Peer Educators training and a three day Work-Readiness workshop. The training took place between the 1st and 2nd of September, and the workshop happened between the 3rd and  5th of September.
